By incorporating various sustainable techniques such as Subtraction Cutting, Knitting, Tufting, Gathering, Crochet, Pleating, Smocking, Slashing, and utilising off-cuts, I created a collection of six innovative looks that emphasize waste-conscious design.

Zero-Waste Top
Inspired by seashells and the ocean, I designed a zero-waste bustier top, incorporating intricate paneling and sustainable techniques. The bodice features splattered blue dye, mimicking the movement of water, while off-cuts from the panels are dyed and stitched onto water-soluble fabric to create the sleeves. Dyed mesh fabric, resembling seashell tones, is pleated for a structured yet fluid silhouette. An asymmetrically draped knit panel, also dyed, forms the top layer, complete with a hidden side pocket. A lower panel is folded and draped into a cowl, adding dimension.
Designed for modularity, the sleeves and cowl panel are detachable, allowing multiple styling options to extend the garment’s lifespan—a key principle of sustainable fashion. Finally, strips of white lace are gathered to create ribbons for the corset back and to secure the detachable elements, blending functionality with an ethereal aesthetic.
