Open House
Fashion Show 24/25
The Temasek Polytechnic Open House Fashion Show is an annual event, organised, lead and run by Apparel Design and Merchandising students. It is used to showcase the past year's graduate collection, giving recognition to their hard work while also showing a glimpse into what ADM entails for those keen on joining the course.
As Co-chair of the Open House Fashion Show, I honed my leadership skills by working closely with an amazing team of committee members, models, and helpers to achieve a successful show.

Approving and putting up posters!

I oversaw the entire production process, coordinating various aspects such as styling, hair, makeup, music, choreography, model managing, stage design, and marketing.
Casting day
I even had some fun taking subcommittee members on a model scouting hunt around campus, creatively promoting the show by wearing posters on our clothes.

Photoshoot day
Additionally, I took charge of model casting, fittings, rehearsals, timelines, meetings, financials, and overall event logistics, ensuring everything ran smoothly.

Fitting!
I also coordinated students to assist as dressers and hair and makeup assistants, while liaising with our advisors and lecturers to keep them updated on our team's progress and decisions, ensuring alignment with the event's goals and vision.

ADMIG
The Apparel Design and Merchandising Interest Group (ADMIG) is a course-centered club dedicated to raising awareness about sustainability while fostering a strong sense of community. We provide our subcommittee members with hands-on experience in fashion events such as dressings and exhibits, as well as opportunities to plan initiatives like fundraisers and sustainable pop-ups.
Maincomms!
My maincomms and I at Viridis!

As the President of the Apparel Design and Merchandising Interest Group (ADMIG), I worked closely with my main committee to organise numerous events that strengthened my leadership skills and allowed me to grow while gaining invaluable experiences.

Together, we fostered a sense of community within ADM and spread awareness about our course, guiding our subcommittee members along the way.

Halloween prep
An event I am especially proud of and one to remember is Viridis, which I led in organising. This event was dedicated to showcasing sustainable and eco-friendly student brands and creations, with the goal of raising awareness about sustainable fashion design practices.
Beyond being a showcase, Viridis also served as a fundraiser for our interest group, helping to support future initiatives. In addition to organising the event, I also participated as a vendor, featuring and selling pieces from my own brand, Naughty Knotty.

I oversaw the production process of all ADMIG events, primarily managing logistics, timelines, and leading operations on the event day. Through these experiences, I also developed essential soft skills such as communication, teamwork, organisation, and adaptability.

Design Orientation Camp
Group Leaders!

Design Orientation Camp (DOC) is an event held to welcome design freshmen to polytechnic, helping them acclimate and adjust to poly life. I am part of DOC in the academic years 2024/25 and 2025/26.
My RU'VA GLs!

In Design Orientation Camp (DOC), I served as a Group Leader (GL), acting as the first point of contact for the freshmen. My responsibilities included routing, providing status updates, conducting welfare checks, and energising the crowd.

In the academic year 2024/25, I was part of the Events sub-department, where I planned bonding activities for the department. I also collaborated with Identities for GL Spa Day, where we dyed our hair, painted our nails, and made beaded bracelets—all in our department color, pink!

My RU'OK empire!
On event day, I served as the main router for my empire, guiding them to various locations throughout the camp and quickly adapting to wet weather routes when needed.

Group Leaders having dinner!

For Design Orientation Camp 2025/26, I am in charge of making a bag for the Group Leaders to use during the camp.
Drawing masterplan

After deciding on a design, I drew out a masterplan and made paper patterns for the bag.

I then made a sample and adjusted the pattern according to the feedback received.

Cutting
Then it was time to start prepping! We purchased fabric and began cutting the pattern pieces, repeating the process until we had enough to make 44 bags.

The bulk of the task involved sewing, where I worked alongside a few of my Identity GLs to sew up all the bags.

eyelets
I decided to invest some of my own money to buy eyelets for all the bags, as I thought my GLs would appreciate having a place to attach their keychains.

During this time, the rest of the Identity GLs were cooking up designs to spray paint on the bags. We ultimately decided on this design and started spray painting!

Once that was done, the GL bags were complete!
